H.E. Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche
Kagyu Thegchen Ling is a center of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in 1974 by His Eminence Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche (1905-1989), renowned meditation master of the Shangpa and Karma Kagyu traditions, KTL was one of the early dharma centers established in the West by him and has served the Hawaii community and practitioners from afar for close to 50 years.
KTL is part of an international network of Shangpa Kagyu dharma centers, retreat centers, and monasteries currently led by Shangpa Lineage Holder, Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche. Born in 1990, he was recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the previous Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche.
